We’d become used to the last generation of separate chassis TRs putting on the pounds over the last two to three years, but we’re seeing early signs of them slipping backwards.
The downward movement has started with the later and less powerful CR models built from 1973-76, which have slipped 1.2%. That brings project cars to £4.9k, usable examples to £8.75k and fault-free cars to £15.75k, with the best concours contenders making £22k.
Despite being the least-chased of the separate chassis TRs, these late TR6s had benefited from the general growth of the series, led by the TR5, but as the market slows down, they’re the first to suffer. Their slipping values could be a hint that the other TRs will follow. We’ll keep an eye on them over the coming months.
