That year-on-year fall puts them in the top five Price Guide Movers On The Slide in this month’s Classic Cars market section.

While rough, project cars will still typically cost £6k, the tidy, usable examples needing ongoing work are down 3.9% to £12.5k, fault-free cars are down similarly by 4% to £24k and concours contenders take the biggest hit of 6.7% for a typical price of £35k. The slide in values is part of a wider settling of classic Jaguar prices, particularly the Fifties and Sixties models that had seen the strongest climbs over the past decade.
