The dream of seeing historic rally cars competing for a proper FIA World Championship takes a step closer to reality Cars, and stars, from the World Rally Championship's 37-year history (and beyond) will have their own championship supporting the modern-day WRC from 2011. The 'WRC Classic' as it's tentatively titled, is part of new WRC promoter North One Sport's plans to reinvigorate world rallying. North One Sport chairman Neil Duncanson told Classic Cars: 'One of the great things about rallying is its history. This will be a proper FIA stage rally championship with points and a WRC Classic champion. We want to make it a real, competitive event.'
